The surveyor should NEVER be asked to prepare a boat for inspection. However, the surveyor may request minor dismantling of interior components in order to gain access to suspect areas. It is the responsibility of the person ordering the survey to engage qualified personnel to perform any dismantling and the re-installation of parts. |

| 1. Arrange to present a clean and shipshape boat. 2. Have all ship's papers and miscellaneous gear ready including sails, dinghy, outboard motor, safety equipment, etc. 3. Lockers and cabin areas should be cleared of all personal gear. 4. If applicable, make arrangements with the marina to haul vessel for bottom inspection. 5. Have a captain or the owners representative available for sea trial. |
